The Royalaires have been organized as a gospel singing group for 42 years. The original group began in 1963 as a quartet and changed to a trio about 10 years later.
The group has traveled extensively over the years primarily on weekends, however for the past 21 years they have been a featured group on the Singing At Seas Southern Gospel Cruise with Templeton Tours of Boone, NC. In April 2004 they were privileged to travel Fraserburg, Scotland to participate in the 2004 Gospel Music Convention which featured groups from 5 different countries.
Jerry
Metzler is the manager and emcee for the group and he sings tenor for
the trio. You will certainly see the power of God in the services as he
is led by the will of God, shares his testimony and sings. He has a
definite compassion for souls and his main desire is to tell others of
God’s saving and keeping grace. Jerry handles all scheduling of
appointments for the group.
Michelle
Davis from Marietta GA joined the group in July of 2004. She has been
singing most of her life, first with her family the singing Davis’ which
consisted of her sister Melody and her two brothers, Douglas and Greg.
They sang for many years traveling in the southeastern states. For
those of you who remember the LeFevre name, Michelle sang with Uncle Alf
and the LeFevres for 3 ½ years. She also sang for about 5 years with
the JoSan Singers of Atlanta, GA. She is an outgoing Christian lady who
has a beautiful voice and spirit. She will thrill you with her singing
and make you smile with her southern accent! Her greatest joy is her 11
year old son Spencer and he and Michelle live in Marietta, GA.

Our
newest member is Susan Metzler. Susan is a sweet lady and she and Jerry
began courting in 2004. They married in October 2005. When our former
alto singer decided to leave due to health reasons, we discovered that
Susan had a really nice alto voice and blended with Jerry and Michelle
just great. She has sung in her church choir and really loves to sing
with her sisters, of which she has 11! Susan really loves the Lord and
is excited with this new venture God has opened up in her life. It is
wonderful to see God working through this couple.
